I am a CCNP with about 6 years hands on experience in the industry, especially with Cisco (Various platforms/devices). What are the best books for the written exam. I am seeing alot of different opinions on the Caslow books. any help would be great. thanks

Some of the books that I used for the written are:

Doyle Vol I and II
Sybex CCIE study guide
DQoS - Wendell Odom
Caslow book
802.11 Wireless fundamentals
NLI's CCIE study guide

There are numerous others, and I'm sure many more will add to this list. I would recommend starting off with the Doyle Vol I book, and go from there. Also the links that Cisco reference on their site are must reads (in my opinion)

I found that Cisco's technical documenatation has 90% of what you need. If you also look at the written blueprint online resources, you can almost see the questions that you might get on the test.

Doyle I and II
Internet Architectures
OSPF Design
EIGRP Design
IS-IS Design
Frame Relay Design Solutions
End-End QOS
802.11 Wireless Fundamentals
ATM Essentials
ISDN Explained
Cisco LAN Switching Fundamentals (new stuff)
Cisco LAN Switching - (CCIE level - older material)

There are probably more titles that could be added.

hope this helps
