Switchport question on Cisco 7609

Hi all,

I have a cisco 7609 connected to the 3620 via FastEthernet interfaces. On the 7609, I configure FE3/1 as switchport and assigned it to vlan 10, I gave an ip address of 172.16.200.2/24 to interface Vlan 10, then connect FE3/1 to FE1/0 on the 3620 with ip address 172.16.200.1/24.

I saw FE3/1 on the 7906 is up and up, but the interface vlan 10 is still down and down.

What do I miss here?

MSFC autostate on?

Int vlan 10 not admin down (at least on hybrid, new vlan interfaces are automatically admin down upon creation)?
